Ngiyampaa Wangaaypuwan Man | Advocate | Storyteller | Connector
Born in Bathurst, NSW, and proud of his roots as a 4th generation Indigenous Australian from the Ngiyampaa Wangaaypuwan people of north-western New South Wales, Terry is a passionate advocate for men’s health, wellbeing, and connection.
Terry’s story is one of resilience, transformation, and purpose. From humble beginnings collecting trolleys at Coles, he rose through the ranks to run a $600,000-a-week grocery department and later served as a regional fruit specialist overseeing 12 stores. With over 25 years of experience in retail leadership, 10 years in national sales roles, and 5 years building and running businesses, Terry’s career has been anything but ordinary.
But behind the professional success is a deeply personal journey. Growing up surrounded by domestic violence and alcohol abuse, Terry faced his own battles with addiction, depression, and suicidal thoughts. He has walked the path of survival—and now walks the path of service.
Today, Terry is the driving force behind MenYarning, a social enterprise born from lived experience and cultural connection. With a didgeridoo in hand and a mission in his heart, Terry is helping other men find their voice, share their story, and rediscover their strength.
A lover of nature, photography, and storytelling, Terry believes in the power of simple, honest conversation. Through MenYarning Monday: and the Brew for a Bro campaign, he’s building a movement where men feel safe to speak up and show up—for themselves and each other.
Terry’s vision is bold: to raise $1 million for organizations working in men’s health and wellbeing and to spotlight grassroots groups making a difference on the ground.
Because as Terry says, "Talk-Chat,Chew The Fat, Because Our Wellbeing Matters.
