Terry Playle
Terry Playle, Born in Bathurst, NSW, is a 4th generation Indigenous Australian from the Ngiyampaa Wangaaypuwan people of north-western NSW. Over the course of 25 years, he worked his way up from a trolley collector at Coles supermarket to running a $600,000-per-week grocery department, ultimately becoming the regional fruit specialist overseeing 12 stores. With an additional 10 years in sales roles for national companies and 5 years creating and running businesses, Terry’s career has been diverse and dynamic.
His deep passions include nature, photography, playing the didgeridoo, and helping others. His latest venture, MenYarning, is a social enterprise born from personal experiences—growing up amidst domestic violence and alcohol abuse, battling his own struggles with alcohol, depression, and thoughts of suicide, and supporting family members through similar challenges. Today, Terry is committed to using his journey and experiences to help other men facing similar issues, turning his life purpose into action by offering support, advocacy, and a voice for men's health and wellbeing.
